Wolverettes score big at camp
THIBODEAUX — The Varsity Wolverette dance team received a Superior rating for their home routine and competition dance.
They won the high school camp competition with a kick dance they learned at camp. The Wolverettes were first-runner up in the Camp Competition.
Finally, for the third year in a row the Varsity Wolverettes won the prestigious Judge's Award.
Eight of our dancers were chosen as All-Stars, Annie Reed (captain), Katelyn Stewart (co-captain), Sally Condon (lieutenant), Maddie Harris (lieutenant),
Claire Krause, Katelyn Schultz, Lauren Stewart, and Alyssa Huber.
We are so proud for our (extremely) hard – working Wolverettes.
WOLVERETTE DANCE TEAM NEWS
Dance team earns honors at American All-Star State Competition.
LAFAYETTE—The varsity Wolverette dance team competed in the American All-Star state competition on January 15 and 16 in
Lafayette, Louisiana. The team competed in three dances. The officers danced an ensemble, the whole team competed a kick dance,
and the whole team competed a novelty/prop dance. The Wolverettes came in 2nd in their division in both team dances
and 4th overall in the state for both dances. These are amazing results and we are so proud of our dancers and all of their hard work.
Wolverine Dance Team Information
The Varsity Wolverettes is comprised of 7-12 graders. In 2009-2010
school year we will only choose experience dancers to participate on our Varsity Team.
JV Wolverettes is comprised of 5-8 graders. Wolverettes Performs at all NCS Football games,
NCS Boys Basketball Games, the American All-Star State Competition of Louisiana January 17
and 18th, UDA Competition, Jan. 11th 2009, Sugar Bowl, Super Bowl (Selected Varsity members),
Covington Christmas Parade and American All-Star Summer Dance Camp.
JV Wolverettes perform at JV Football home games, some Varsity home games, and
Elementary pep rallies.
Beth Replogle, Administrative Coach
The goal of the Wolverettes is to witness to surrounding communities
by tastefully dancing to appropriate music and to worship God through choreographed movement.
We strive to honor God and show his love in the way that we act as well as the way that we dance.
Beth Replogle has taught at Northlake Christian for 5 years.
She teaches English I to 8th and 9th graders. She has helped with the dance team in years
past and is excited to be working with the girls again.
Nicole Ferand, Choreography Coach
Nicole Ferand will be coaching the Varsity Wolverettes for the time
this year. She is a resident of Perkinston, MS where she is pursuing a degree in Business
at Pearl River Community College. Nicole was a member of her high school
dance team for four years. While being co-captain her senior year, they won various
titles on the state and national level. She also trained through a dance studio for
16 years. After high school, Nicole became a staff member for American All-Star for four years.
With the company, she traveled the United States choreographing
and teaching dance to children from the ages of 8 to 18. Nicole was also a member of
the New Orleans Saintsations for two years. Currently, Nicole is the manager of Wow Café
& Wingery in Slidell where she has worked for the past three years.
