Wolverines gshutout St. Thomas Aquinas
COVINGTON — Northlake Christian School senior Devin Milazzo netted the game’s only goal Tuesday night sparking the Wolverines to a
critical 1-0 home district victory over the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons. Milazzo tallied in the 15th minute assisted by Weston Acosta, which proved to be the
game-winner. NCS (14-4-3) moved to 4-1 in district play at press time and were tied with the Falcons for first place. NCS has one district match remaining Tuesday
with Independence, while STA has two more district contests. NCS named Mallery Mele and Zac Shaw its top two defenders, while Jeffrey George fashioned the shutout
in goal logging three saves. NCS coach Nick Chetta, who helped guide the Wolverines to the Division III state championship last year, said it was a huge win for
his club and puts them in contention for the district title with STA. Northlake avenged a 3-2 overtime loss in their first district meeting Dec. 17.
